Limbo Makes The Jump to IOS

Playdead have announced the release of Limbo for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The eerie platformer is available on the iPad 2, iPad Mini, iPhone 4s (and all higher) and the latest generation of iPod touch.

Limbo is the debut outing for Danish studio Playdead and was initially released on Xbox Live in July 2010. PS3, PC and Mac versions have all been released with the PS Vita version being released in June of this year. The iOS port marks the final spike-filled pit that Limbo was yet to jump across.

Limbo follows a nameless boy who awakes at the edge of an eerie forest. The player takes the boy through a series of deadly challenges in an attempt to find his missing sister.

The use of a greyscale colour palette, creepy ambient music and a plethora of hidden traps and pitfalls Limbo creates a truly memorable platforming experience and was met with huge critical acclaim on it’s release. Limbo won numerous awards both before, and after it’s release, it regularly featured in top ten games of 2010 and it’s still wining awards now. It was voted Best Indie Game in the 2012 PSN Gamers’ Choice awards and the Mac OS X version was awarded Apples Design Award in 2012.

The simple mechanics of Limbo should be a perfect fit for touch screen devices, so it’s highly recommended you pick this up if you haven’t already.
