Dark Souls II, the next instalment in Namco Bandais RPG/Masochist simulator, has been given some release dates.
Dark Souls II will take up it’s shield and sword and prepare to die over and over and over again on the 14th of March on PS3 and Xbox 360 with the PC version gestating for an extra six weeks until the 25th of April.
The reason for the delayed release of the PC version is that Namco Bandai are giving Dark Souls II some extra TLC. The PC version will have enhanced texture resolution, enhanced frame rate option and the controls are being optimised for mouse and keyboard.
There are some interesting pre-orders and special editions still up for grabs. For the console players, and whilst stocks last, there is the Black Armour Edition which has a metal case, the official game soundtrack as well as access to an in-game armour set. Fans buying Dark Souls II via Steam will get a digital version of the soundtrack and the same in-game bonus complemented with the official artbook and comic book (written by Rob Williams and Andi Ewington with art by Coleby) in pdf format.
