Last night the games BAFTA’s were handed out in London. This is a quick round up of the categories, winners and some interesting outcomes.
The Last of Us came away with the most awards, winning 5 in total, with Tearaway and Grand Theft Auto V carrying away 3 apiece.

There are some deserving winners there, and some that I feel missed out. Papers, Please is an excellent game and deserved to win more than the one BAFTA. I think giving the Multiplayer award to GTAV isn’t the greatest of decisions. It’s hella fun, when it works. That’s the kicker for me, when it works.
There were some superb games that got nominated, but unfortunately didn’t come away with anything. Gunpoint is a brilliant indie title as is The Stanley Parable. Although they didn’t win, it’s great that indie games made by a handful of people are getting put into the same categories as literal billion dollar games.
The BAFTA fellowship was awarded to Rockstar Games by Hideo Kojima this year. It’s been a huge year for Rockstar, and it’s not a surprise that they’ve been awarded the fellowship, particularly as Grand Theft Auto V was developed in Edinburgh and in a previous life, as DMA Design, Rockstar North developed Lemmings.
